FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

North America // November 23, 2021 // The National Basketball Association (NBA) welcomes Native American music icon, PJ Vegas, to perform at the Los Angeles Clippers game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 23 at 7:30pm PT. In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the LA Clippers hosts Native American Cultural Night on Tuesday, November 23. PJ opens the evening with the national anthem and performances at the home game also include Indigenous artists, Doc Native Music and Spencer Battiest.

“It is an honour to team up with the Clippers. Being a part of this night gives more visibility to Indigenous culture and art and the people behind it. Ultimately, behind the music and art are the stories of our people and the history of these lands. Slowly, we are seeing more Black, Indigenous and people of colour being highlighted in sports, music and media and I’m so grateful that the incredible team at the Clippers is taking part in this beautiful wave of representation that’s happening across North America,” shares Vegas.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, PJ Vegas is a MTV Music Video Award-winning Native American singer / songwriter with tour history across North America. His credits include music, television, film and fashion collaborations alongside creative icons and global brands including the Wu-Tang Clan, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, Martin Scorcese, Quincy Jones, Buffy Sainte Marie, Nike, GQ and the list goes on.

PJ is the son of Pat Vegas, founder / member of legendary Native American rock band, Redbone.
