Biography

Mike Bern is an Indigenous singer and songwriter from Tobique First Nation, New Brunswick. Before embarking on a solo career, Bern sang in award winning bands Kickin Krotch and District Avenue. The singer’s raspy voice can be heard on “First Mother ” which had early success and climbed to the number one spot on the Indigenous Music Countdown.

Although Bern’s musical genre is Indigenous Folk Rock, a hint of Southern Gospel emanates through his vocals. With influences like Chris Otepka, Frankie Miller, and Ben Schneider it’s no wonder Mike exudes both purity and pain in his music. Bern is no stranger on stage previously opening-up for Seaway, The Trews, One Bad Son, and The Motorleague. In 2017, Bern along with his band District Avenue won two awards for their Revival music video which was featured at the Pyeongchang 2018 winter Olympics. True to the origins of Indie Folk Rock, Bern harmonizes Rock vocals with acoustic guitar melodies reminiscent of traditional folk music. Bern will bring more of a pure Indie Rock sound to the charts. A sound that haunts listeners and stays with you long after listening. Fans are eagerly anticipating his NEW Album “WAPONAHKEW” coming soon to all streaming services worldwide. Whether as a Solo singer or in a band, Mike stands out with haunting vocals and creative acoustic guitar arrangements. Music connoisseurs will fall in love with Mike Bern; an edgy Indie Rocker with Indigenous roots.

“It’s very noisy out there, create your own buzz” – Mike Bern

Biography

Shon Denay, is an Oglala Lakota Sioux and African American singer-songwriter from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Her vocal style is a blend of Raw Neo Soul, Vocal Jazz, Cabaret and Quiet Storm. With a distinctively unique yet soothing voice; Shon Denay embodies the vintage earthy sounds of past Jazz artists from the early to mid-20th century and the easy feel good vibes of Nu Soul today.

Shon Denay has currently completed the debut EP release for “On the Rocks” with producer Bosie T “Thursty”. The EP includes tracks: “Wanting”, “Sea Sick”, “Should I”, “Diversion” and “RIPn Up”, “Again” and “Comeback” ft Bryan Richard.

Being raised in the “City of Lights”, Shon Denay inherently participated in local talent shows like a fish to water, winning “Best Vocal Performance” (Lipservice Awards) and “Favorite Female” (Bounty Awards). In 2009, Shon Denay also provided vocals for the track “Gotta Move On” on the “Love vs Pain Project” produced by Bosie T. In 2016, she provided vocals for the tracks; “Make Her Say” “Infidelity” and “Chain Reaction” on Chico Spitz “City of Devils” EP.

Alongside her singing, Shon Denay honed her stage presence by being cast in high school plays, hosting benefit award shows and joining the school’s dance troupe, Illusion. In 2002, Shon Denay became a founding member of Twisted Dance Troupe and remained active for seven years. In 2015, Shon Denay also assisted the founding member for CTWAY, “Change The World Around You”. An up and coming nonprofit organization based in Las Vegas that highlights and showcases local talent.

She concurrently sharpened her writing ability by entering and winning a national Hair and Makeup Makeover Contest by Glamour Magazine, a local Gary Spivey Haunted House Contest by 98.5 KLUC and was 1st Runner Up to be published by The International Library of Poetry in “Under a Quick Silver Moon”. This ultimately steered her lyrical content to be based mainly on all matters of the complex human emotion.

Shon Denay plans to release a limited production run of the EP “On The Rocks” in CD format and in digital format via online music outlets in 2018. Being that she is currently independently produced; her career path is directed towards a successful grassroots campaign to raise funds for the LP album in hopes to create a limited edition vinyl version to be carried in independently owned record stores.

Biography

If you’re from the North, Leela Gilday’s music is home.  If you’ve never been, it will take you there. Born and raised in the Northwest Territories, she writes about the people and the land that created her. The power in her voice conveys the depth of her feelings of love and life in a rugged environment and vibrant culture, as if it comes straight from that earth.  Leela’s family is from Délįne on the shore of Great Bear Lake and her rich vocals dance across the rhythmic beats of traditional Dene drumming as smoothly as a bass line onstage the largest venues in the country.   And she has played them all.Leela has toured festivals and concert halls with her four-piece band through every province and territory in Canada.

She has played in the United States, Greenland, Denmark and New Zealand and thisyear embarked on an ambitious European tour. Her live shows are where she connects with fans who have followed her on a 20-year career and where new fans are born.   She reaches into their hearts and feels the energy of every person in front of her as she guides them on a journey through song and experience.  She believes music has an inexplicable effect on people.   It is a place where she can share light and dark and the most vulnerable moments, with a clarity and genuine purpose that reassures her listeners through every word.   She is a storyteller, and through this, reflects the world onto itself.  Five years after her last album was released—five years of growth, healing and head-down work.
